Winter Edition: Fun Within Our Community

POW Presentation

Seventh graders had an opportunity to enjoy a presentation by Protect Our Winters, a "passionate crew of diehards, professional athletes and industry brands mobilizing the outdoor sports community to lead the charge towards positive climate action." Ms. Alam, a seventh grade science teacher, invited Brody Levin and his team to field students' questions about global warming and help students brainstorm ways they can protect our environment. Seventh graders enjoyed the presentation. Neha J, Sean C, and Michael R were prompted to take energy saving measures like installing "low-flow showerheads" and "energy-saving lightbulbs" at home and around the community. Anthony M-J and Lorenzo are making extra efforts to turn off the lights at home, too.

Remember: we can all pitch in to help the environment! Encourage your teachers to use their blue recycle bins and turn off classroom lights or projectors when they aren't being used.
