Movie Review #1: Kidnap
by Samiya Mohamed

Kidnap is a dramatic movie about a mother who loses her son and does everything in her power to get him back. It starts off with the main character, Karla (Halle Berry), at her lousy job working for someone else's shift. She goes to a fair with her 6 year-old son Frankie (Sage Correa), and is always sure that they are together at all times. However, when she receives a phone call she leaves the area, and Frankie, momentarily to answer it. She comes back to notice Frankie was kidnapped. That's when the chase is on for Karla to find her son.
In my opinion the movie was dragged on too long and could've been made into a 20 minute long episode. The movie was too long and ended off with no closure; it left me some questions I’ll never get the answers to. It could've been a better movie only if half of the it wasn’t a high speed chase and if it was revealed at some point why the kidnappers kidnapped the child. In addition the camera working was a little awkward and could have been done better to add to the dramatic film.
But, all in all, it was a interesting film and I would recommend to watch it with family members.

Movie Review #2: Daddy's Home 2
by Tara Zakhireh

I recently watched the movie Daddy’s Home 2 (PG-13), which is the sequel of the original Daddy’s Home. Daddy’s Home 2 came into theaters on November 10th of 2017. I didn’t enjoy this movie much because their was too much happening in the movie, maybe if the producer’s stuck to one big problem, I think I would’ve enjoyed the movie much more than I did. The movie leaves off a couple of months after the original movie left off.
The movie definitely had some laughs, but not too many. The humor they used in this movie was a lot more intense than the last movie, which is one of the many things I didn’t enjoy. Mel Gibson stars as Dusty’s dad in this movie, which I felt was an appropriate casting, along with some others.
If you liked the original Daddy’s Home, I recommend this movie.
