This spring, seventh graders practiced writing CTERC paragraphs for the Persuasion Unit. Below, you can find recommendations for books to use for your summer reading projects!

Aimee Buechter: The Land of Stories #1 If you are looking for a good book, you should check out the book called The Land Of Stories #1 at the library. (The first book is called The Wishing Spell). If you like books about fantasy or likes fairy tale characters, this book would be good for you. The best feature about this book is that it has many genres such as fantasy (one of the main ones), mystery, romance, comedy, action and adventure. The main reason that I recommend this book is because after I read the first book, I couldn't wait to read the next book and was so eager when a new book came out. (I was so eager that I kept reading it nonstop because it kept getting very interesting). Don’t be left out of the wonderful opportunity to read The Land Of Stories book series.
Isabella Rodriguez: Heartless If you’re looking for a deep and enriching story, you need to check out Heartless, by Marissa Meyer(the untold story of the queen of hearts), in your library/bookstore. The Lunar Chronicles does a similar thing to Heartless in that it dives really deep into a fun fairy tale(Alice and Wonderland), and makes it engaging and interesting for an older audience. The best part about Heartless is that the story is so well told that it makes you really feel the queen of hearts, and understand her story. The main reason that I recommend this book is because it shows the personal life, and the whole backstory of the queen of hearts, while presenting a whole other, detailed story. This book is heart wrenching and so well told; you really are missing out on an amazing experience if you don’t check this out now, so do yourself a favor and read Heartless!
Maggie Christoffersen: Secrets for the Mad Today I just have to tell you about Secrets for the Mad by Dodie Clark, the best book around! If you like how-tos, poems, and short stories, you’ll love Secrets for the Mad, a memoir book of “obsessions, confessions, and life lessons”. The best part of the entire thing, though, is that it’s all written by singer/songwriter/YouTuber Dodie Clark! It tells stories of being on tour, and every few stories, there’ll be a full color page with lyrics to one of her songs. The main reason I recommend Secrets for the Mad, though, is because it’s really well written. Each story, letter, and song has personal thoughts, feelings, and experiences written into them, which makes it a very relatable experience. If you want a way to make your life more enjoyable, you should buy and read this book because it sure will make you happier.
