Summer 2018: Student Recommendations-- Vacation Spots

Ann Marie Seybold: The Grand Canyon

I went to the Grand Canyon and loved it! The Grand Canyon is located in Arizona and was established as a National Park in 1919. The Grand Canyon is very interesting because as well as the hiking trails it has a very rich history with Native Americans and settlers. I would first like to discuss the South Kaibab trail. This was the first of two trails that I hiked. This trail was the harder one and more desert like. There was not a lot of shade walking down, but when you got to the trails halfway point there was a huge area with a few trees and other shady places to take a break and have lunch. Next, I want discuss the Bright Angel trail. This was the second and last trail I hiked and I liked this one better because there was more shade and it wasn't as hot. Like the other trail, there was a halfway point and this halfway point had bathrooms! Overall, I thought the hiking trails at the Grand Canyon were amazing and I think that you should definitely go try them out yourself!

Mira Thope: Florida

For a wonderful getaway with your family over summer vacation, book a trip to Destin, Florida!
